The need for mental health and education professionals knowledgeable of Spanish and Hispanic cultures is large and is not being met with existing personnel. Thus, professional preparation programs that increase the number of suitably prepared mental health and education professionals with this knowledge are needed. As Spanish is considered the second-most widely spoken language in the world, the demand for individuals knowledgeable and fluent in Spanish is growing. Indeed, being able to communicate your thoughts, preferences, and needs to others in Spanish is a generalizable skill set in today’s global and competitive market.
In the summer of 2008, EcuadorPPP established itself as a unique provider of international study abroad programs for mental health practitioners, education professionals, and graduate students. Our mission is to become a catalyst for positive change in our community and the world through quality international programs.
If you, a colleague, or a graduate student in the fields of education or psychology would like to acquire knowledge of or fluency in the Spanish language, become confident in using Spanish professionally, acquire knowledge of a Hispanic family, and work in clinical facilities or a school, we believe the following program may be of interest to you.
